Of farewells and new beginings

Spent the last afternoon in Penang with mummy and someone. Yes, THAT someone. =P . Was pretty fun walking around, talking, and enjoying the company. Mebbe when i come back we can do it again. HAHAHA. what say you, mummy?

Haha.

Ha. XD

Anyway, i'd like to thank the nice people who got me a farewell card & gift. Jacky, Edmund, Lawrence, Wan Jun, Marianne, Wei Yee, Jeshua..Thanks you guys. So sweet. =) not sure who else contributed, so if i didn't mention your name, lemme know ok?

Oh yes, would my kind Disted friends notify me when the LAN results are out?
Please and thank you!!
Then i can save some time in Nilai, without having to do them again.

Whoa..by this time tomorrow, i'll be safely in KL, awaiting the next day.
Time certainly flies by. Already, 6 months have gone past. People are all slowly but surely leaving, forging different paths, meeting new people, living in new environments.
Oh how i miss those days in school. Oh, the nostalgia.

Anyway, this will be the last post for the time being. Will prolly update when i'm settled in. Depending on how strong the internet connection is. Will keep you all updated when i can!

To all the people whom i know, love and care for, do take care. God bless.
And try not to miss me too much. =P
I'm just a phone call away if you need to hear my voice. HAHAHA.

Farewell, Penang! Till we meet again. =)

Eve of eve

Today is Saturday. In 2 days time, i'd be gone from Penang. Goodness. The thought of crossing Penang bridge is like i'm going past the point of no return. No turning back. The moment in life where a new chapter starts, and the old one closes. The new chapter will soon unfold..how the journey will be like, i do not know. But i do know that i will NOT compromise my principles and i will stand firm. And i will never be alone wherever i go. This i believe. =)

There is power, power

Wonder working power

Wookay, end of reflective mood. On to other stuff.

I went to WAKA Japanese Restaurant yesterday. AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. It was expensive. No, i do not have any pictures to show. I'm not much of a food photographer unlike *coughlynncough*. =P
I'd never thought i'd say this but i'm officially sick of salmon sashimi. And this coming from a salmon fanatic. Though it's probably a good thing that i'd be laying off salmon for some time to come..seeing as my given allowance cannot accommodate such pricey foodstuff. That's one negative side to studying away from home.
Motto to go by in Nilai : Cheap is Good

I promised Mel i'd blog about my 'spa' experience but it got a bit delayed. Eheh. Sorry.

Guess where i went for my spa treatment?

........
.....
...

Can you guess now?

How about now????

Yes, i went to make my feet happy. For 30 minutes. =D
Imagine being kissed by a school of fishies and you get this :

Contrary to popular (read : kiran) belief, they are NOT piranhas. These harmless dead skin nibbling fishies are called Garra Rufa. They kiss, nibble and tickle but both feet are still intact after you're done. =P

It was rather fun actually..To dip my feet in fish water. XD The gross factor is pretty low cause these fishies are so small so it doesn't feel slimy, don't worry. =) It does however feel like you have one of those Osim iSqueeze thingies just that the strength factor is scaled down.

And it actually is true that your feet feels smoother at the end of the entire thing. The lady boss recommends that you come for the fish spa once every week to mantain smooth and silky feet. But at the expanse of your wallet size la. Hahaha.
Well, there is another way. Dress like you're below 12 and tell the workers you're just tall for your age then you get to do it for free. =D Brilliant no?

my feet are happy

finding my way up after the soft sandy ledge gave way

Ok ok, fine. I'll stop posting poser pictures. =P just wanted to show you what nice photos DLSR cameras can produce. Lalalalaaaa..

Couldn't help myself
Ehhee.

Time

Karyn is HIGH today.
*grins*
=D =D =D =D =D

And so there are 5.
Days left in Penang, i mean.
Pretty much prepared for it, just the sporadic panicky, i-don't-wanna-leave thoughts.

Did i mention i'm high today?

Thoughts

Across the brain :

1. Karyn will no longer be out of reach with Penang people when away from home cause she now has a laptop. Webcam! Nyahahaha. Many thanks to mummy dearest. =D

2. Karyn will be 'cracking the SAT' with her ultra thick and ultra expensive edition of Cracking The SAT 2008 Edition.
Lookie what i found. Thai scholars with perfect or very very nearly perfect scores for SAT Subject Tests and yet not admitted into some of the top unis. Giler. And there's a rumour circulating that this year, JPA is limiting the list to Ivies only. IVIES i tell you. No more 'standard ivies' or so they say..Sigh.
That can only mean one thing.
Hardcore studying.

MUST crack the SAT.
MUST MUST MUST gain admittance someplace in their list next year. Hopefully.

3. Karyn saw Aimy today!
Despite the mood. Heh.

4. Karyn wants to try out the Fish Spa in New World Park. Anyone game for it?? =D

5. Karyn's room is in a mess. Stuffed half packed half tossed about on table, bed, closet.
So much for decluttering.
Karyn also wishes she could pack Penang into a bag and take it along with her.

Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek of shots taken one fine morning at Monkey Beach with the brother in law. =D Will post some others when i get them. I got a nice brother in law who treats me like his younger sis. Don't jealous. Ehheee.
Anyway, see how pretty the sea and the skies turned out to be? Though in reality, it didn't look that appealing. Haha.
Yes yes, the person standing there very kayu and it spoils the picture.
Hmph. =P

Brain drain

I've found out that i should

Never.
Ever.
Stop studying for one week during the exam break.
And resume one day before the paper.

And i thought my chem was ok...now i'm getting more than 10 wrongs per pass year paper.
Stupid.
Same goes for physics.

(though i'll be gone anyway so there's no point right? =P)

Mental note : remember to pack brains before going to Nilai

Edit : just need to not be careless/blind =D

Fun times

Since those two bloggers that we all know have an average rate of 3 blog posts per day, i don't have to drone on and on about what we did yesterday. =)
I'm sure you'd click here or here to find out.

Though at the end of the day, i can't help but wonder when we'd be able to go out together as a group again. Jas will be busy with her school trip, Aimy and Lynn with the second semester in Disted, Denise will be...at home just like me. Counting down the days to our life on a totally different state.

I always always always hate when outings come to an end.

people who leave footprints in your heart

*cue graduation soundtrack*

ps- Rose tea tastes just as disgusting as it sounds. Who drinks a jug of flower flavoured tea anyway? Clearly Lynn's the one. =P I'd rather be 'uncreative' and drink iced peach tea any other day. Ehheeee.

Robbed

PETALING JAYA: Increasing the quota for non-bumiputras for Public Service Department (PSD) scholarships without increasing the actual number of scholarships has drastically affected the bumiputras, the Umno Youth Education Bureau said.

Its chairman Ahmad Ikmal Ismail said while the bureau agreed with the Government to give more scholarships to non-bumiputras, it did not agree with the way it was done.

“The quota for non-bumiputras has increased from 10% to 45% but the number of total scholarships has remained at 2,000.”

Ahmad Ikmal said this meant that scholarships were being taken from the bumiputras to be given to the non-bumiputras.

“We object to this move because it now means that 700 scholarships for bumiputra students are gone,” he said.

Ahmad Ikmal said a better way would be to use the New Economic Policy concept to increase the number of total scholarships. He said this was to ensure that the bumiputras were not affected and the non-bumiputras would get even more opportunities.

I will refrain from any comment lest they take away my scholarship and put me under ISA. I duwan get detained! =P
