Epilogue

2008 was the year of change.

We all finished school, left the uniforms behind..

And went our separate ways.

Met new friends...

And still forged close bonds with long-time friends.

Had ups

Downs

And everything in between.

Then a few left the island..

Learned to live on our own.

Each of us experienced different things.

Some fun,

Some not so fun. (that was on of several journeys aboard the KTM train during peak hours)

Raced against time to study for tests, complete projects, submit applications and finish all those worry-inducing matters...

We're still the same in some ways but the 12 months spent out of school has changed us in some ways. I believe that 2009 will bring new experiences, lessons and most importantly hope for us all.

Happy New Year everyone!

Rendezvous

On this very fine Awal Muharram day, 20 girls met up at Salsas Restaurant for lunch. T'was another Class of 2007 gathering (albeit on a smaller scale) like the one we had earlier this year. Don't you ever wonder if guys do this whole meeting-up-on-a-large-scale thing? =P

And so, the very pretty Jas was my driver of the day. No worries people, no human beings were harmed on the way there.

Once there, we proceeded to wait for the rest...With chatter going on at full speed of course. And then out came cameras aplenty.

The Fantastic 4 minus one. Somehow the group never seems to be complete. Last time round, it was Jas and now we're missing Denise. Maybe that's the reason for Aimy's long face..or maybe she's upset that she got pulled into a photo. Haha.

Lookie! I got an 'F'! F for spagethi. =D
I must say, Salsas was very organized. They gave us little little cards (like the one above) which represented the different main courses we were having. No confusion. =)

Pumpkin soup with some herb for garnish. Some pungent herb it was. Blehh. Though my unrefined tastebuds cannot identify what it was. =P

My seafood spaghetti in tomato based sauce.

Irene's pan seared salmon. Nice.

Aimy's spaghetti carbonara.

Jas's grilled chicken with asparagus.

More asparagus! How coincidental that there was wacky conversation with some friends about asparagus yesterday and today i tried it...and i didn't like it.

Pat chose the dory fish. Notice the small orange-y blobs on the far end of the plate. We couldn't tell what it was. Looked like fish roe but tasted funny. Heheh.

And this is dessert! Vanilla ice-cream, pudding and cake.

Then it was off to New World Park to continue with our sembang-ing. Of course we couldn't hole up at Salsas the whole afternoon considering the amount of sound MGS girls make and how peeved the manager was. Hahaha.

A must-have family photo of us kids and 'mummy'. AHAHAHAHA.

We spent a good five hours in total today. =) Meeting up is always so much better than just reading blogs or having virtual conversations. It just doesn't feel that real.
I guess the next time we all come together again will be a few years down the road since more people are leaving this tiny island next year.

Edit: Go here to read a nicer version of the gathering. =) Jas tells it much much nicer..and she mentioned things i wanted to say but didn't know how. Flair for words. Go figure.

Niche

Guess what?
I have found my niche in the art department!!
Really wan.

I can make stuff out of clay. =)
Never mind that i can't draw, paint or do anything else related to art.
But i can make clay...uhm...mini figures. =P
Really wan!
I show pictures IF i get them k?

I played with those art clay thingies in Maylyn's house and wa-lah!
I discovered i can do something apart from looking at others do their thing.
Love the clay that Maylyn has. It's like the Play-Doh i never had. ^^
It didn't need any baking, which was the best part. Cause i'd prolly blow up something if it needed baking. Which would be bad. Nyahahaha.

So if my chemical engineering career doesn't turn out, i know what alternative to take.
Clay figurine souvenir shop. HAHA. Of course must join venture with other artsy people or else i kenot survive on my own. Heee.

Sports

Yesterday.
I learned (somewhat) how to play squash.
And i proceeded to whack my guru, Maylyn in the face with the racket.
Yep. Between the brows.
Felt extremely bad.

I think that will be the first and last of my squash days. =P
Unless people are not afraid of being near a dangerous racket-wielding person like me.

So. Anyone up for badminton?
I promise to hit the shuttlecock and not human bodies. ^^
HAHAHAHA.

Sound of Music

Well, Jazz Fest 08 was fun. =)
I had the good company of 6 other people that night, namely Bobby, Caroline, Gareth, Ian, Maylyn and Yuen Chern. Some of us got the Jazz Fest shirts ^^ and some made dents in their pockets from the pricey food.

I think i have a thing for vocalists.
Last year it was the Idea of North quartet. This year it's Adibah Noor. Home grown talent. =)
She has such a lovely deep voice. ^^

And this other band from Hungary called DJABE was good.

Their bassist had superb fingers which practically flew all over his instrument. *kowtows* His improvisation was extremely long but extremely pleasing to the ears.

And this is Steve Hackett. He played with the DJABE group.
A pro guitarist who likes to act cool. Think Horatio from CSI:Miami. But i suppose being so accomplished allows you to have your own idiosyncrasies. Hee.

There are other groups too, but my report will end here.
Malas dah.

Word game

It's harder than it looks! Copy and paste to your own journal, erase my answers, and add your own. Use the 1st letter of your name to answer each of the following questions. They have to be real places, names and/or objects, but nothing made up! Try to use different answers if the person you got this from has the same 1st initial. You CAN'T use your name for the boy/girl name question. And have fun with it!

4 LETTER WORD: Kind
BOY NAME: Kenneth
GIRL NAME: Karyn (cause it's and awesome name)..Ok lo, Karen.
OCCUPATION: Kangaroo IS an occupation. Haha.
A COLOR: Kryptonite. ^^ brilliant, yes? Hee.
SOMETHING YOU WEAR: Kaftan
BEVERAGE: Kiwi juice
FOOD: Kelp
SOMETHING FOUND IN A BATHROOM: Ugh..Kanebo cosmetics?
A PLACE: Kazakhstan
REASON FOR BEING LATE: fly Kite.
SOMETHING YOU SHOUT: Kine! (its archaic English for cows/cattle) Yeah, i randomly googled the word. Hahaha.

Its very hard to find words begining with 'K' ok.

Cleared

Good riddance, you ebil green blob.
=D

Lynn cooked lotus root soup today. Another item off my Food List. Heeee. ^^
She's gonna be one awesome mama in future. And YOU know it, Lynn.
She cares, she listens, she hugs, she cooks, she sews, she cleans, she designs, she creates, she draws, she takes photos (thank you for the photos!). And she's MY FRIEND. =DD
Plus! She thinks the cookies and cake were nice.
I <3 you! =)

Gonna post all the paper documents of the uni app tomorrow.
*gulps* There's no turning back now.
Full speed ahead!

Cooking Day

Today marked Karyn's maiden baking event. Yes, i kid you not. I have never baked before up until this afternoon. And NO, i did not BREAK anything much less screw anything up. Heee.

Between the four people (Gareth, Yuen Chern, Maylyn, Karyn), we managed to do spaghetti carbonara, butter cake, green pea cookies and oat cookies. =DDD
At some points, it felt like i was the intruder. Being the most un-kitchenwise person there.

Anyone wanna teach me more skillz? =P
So that i will at least have some skillz when i leave for US.

Signing off,

I think i can make this my signing off signature for future blog posts.
Whatcha think? =P
It's Kiran's artistic impression of me. With red hair. Hahaha.

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

I see red.

Pig bread?!?

Remember the Food List that i had earlier? The one that had people saying i'd grow so fat in Penang that they won't be able to recognize me anymore back in Inti. -.-

If you look at number 16, it says roti babi. Some of you have never heard, much less savoured the dish before. I can only do as much to show you pictures. Come tantalize your taste buds in Penang. =P

This, my fellow readers, is what you call roti babi. Or pig bread if literally translated. Haha.
It's filling is made of shredded pork, onions and various other ingredients added which is then enclosed in deep-fried bread. Usually eaten with a dash of Worchesteshire sauce. =)

It's Hainanese cuisine, by the way.

And this is what a complete roti babi looks like.

Dad bought it from the coffee shop in Pulau Tikus. I think the shop is called Bee Hooi. I think. In my humble opinion, the above roti babi is passable but not that great. Not enough filling and the bread is a bit too thick. =P

With that, the food report has now come to an end. Thank you for reading this post.

Any takers?

Que Sera Sera

SAT 2 scores are out!
Falalalaa.
I think i'm just like any other average student out there with average scores.
Physics & Chem are good (according to my expectations, that is).
Math 2 is..below par. Tsk tsk. (bravo to Crystal. Yours is fantabulous. =D)

BUT.
I'm contented with the scores. Am not going to retake.
Waste more money and there's a possible downside of getting worse scores.

And so, all exam results are out in the open.
SAT 1, AUP Semester 1 Finals and now SAT 2.
All that's left is TOEFL in Feb.

Que sera sera, what will be will be. =)
If it is written that i will fly next year, then so be it.
If not, then you'll see me around for another year.
Wheee!

Race

It's accelerating towards December now. Eagerly anticipating for friends to be liberated from their respective exams and faraway lands so that we can meet up again. =) other than that, it's the same ol' case of putting off writing my application essays, catching up on drama series and more bumming around.

Is it just me or are the shows televised on Astro getting less and less entertaining? There's nothing to watch in the afternoon. I miss my cartoons. When i had nothing to do, i could even watch 'Blue's Clues' for fun. Yes, i kid you not. I can sing the song summore ok. HAHA.
Sigh, my dosage of cute cartoons are running on and all time low. =(
And you know those Taiwanese game shows? They're supposedly funny but are actually incredibly ridiculous.
...Ok lo, maybe it's just the selection of channels i have at home. =P

These days, HK dramas are becoming less of an appeal too. Before life in Inti, i used to be such an avid follower. The time slot from 8pm up to 10.30pm was strictly reserved for HK dramas. Now, getting through 30 episodes of 'Moonlight Resonance' becomes more of a race to reach the end rather than a nail-bitting, attention-grabbing, non-stop activity.

Lalalaaa.
Anyone up for a game of badminton? A swim in the pool? A hike?
Or some kinda outdoor activity?
Some event to participate in?
No?

Bleh.
I go play my online games.

Results

I shall now interrupt the long blogging hiatus with breaking news.
I was on blogging break cause i was busy. Been going back to my secondary school almost on a daily basis, going out with family & friends, doing photo shoots and catching up with my cantonese drama series.
See, nothing much to be excited over. =)

Back to the breaking news.

Dr. Lim called me this afternoon. At my house number.
O.o
YES.
DR. LIM.
Just to tell me my AUP semester 1 results...and the results of other friends too.
(note: the results of our final exams are officially out on the 18th)
And knowing Dr. Lim, he always gets information way before other people.

I'm happy with my results. =)

How often is it that your professor calls you to tell you stuff/ask about you?
That's why we all <3 Dr. Lim.

By the way, the INTI supremos rejected his resignation letter.
Know what this mean? This means we'll still be seeing him around next year.
Anyone up for ENL 102?
Haha.

Musings

Lets try this again..
Doing things differently from the societal norms can be tough. Sometimes I feel so compelled to follow the flow cause it's fun, easy and everyone does it. But by not following the rest of the world, the end becomes worth the wait, yes? I know i certainly have felt the 'I wish i could do this' syndrome. I'm learning. And doing my best to turn to higher authority. =) And I appreciate that i'm not alone in this.

If it's in the blueprints, then it will work out.
That i know.

On an unrelated note..
Lookie here!

Haha.
Happy birthday, Gareth!
Yes, it was yesterday buttttt it's the thought that counts right? =P
Belated birthday blog post for you.

End of Semester

Today is the official semester break and i'm already back home in Penang. =D =D =D Gonna be home until the Jan 09 semester starts..which is on 5th Jan 2009. Meaning, i have a two month long break. I can hear fellow Intians shouting "YAYYYYYY!!!" Of the other colleges i've heard about so far, Inti is the only one that has such a long break. Others have only one month or less.

I spent the last day of my time in Inti in the comforts of civilization. =P A bunch of us went down to Sunway Pyramid (yes, again) to eat good food and do some retail therapy. Hahahaha. 7 of us (Rachel, Crystal, Wui Yarn, Kok Keong, Tze Liang, Jit Choon and me) hopped on the Inti bus to Inti Subang and from there, we took a taxi to Sunway Pyramid. Coincidentally on that day, there was this 'Meet The Fans & Autograph Session' which had famous HK stars like the guys from The Super Trio Show and Bosco Wong. But it was at 8pm. And our last bus back to Inti Nilai leaves at 7.15pm. So, we didn't stay and we took a cab from Pyramid back to Inti Subang to wait for the Inti bus.

The day went pretty well except for when we were going back home..We arrived at Inti Subang at about 7.05pm. Seeing as the bus wasn't there yet, some of us meandered around the place, checking out the food stalls and what nots. Manatau, Jit Choon called to say that the bus was leaving already. Jit Choon and Tze Liang weren't able to convince the bus driver to wait for us. So, we ketinggalan bus at 7.10pm. The bus driver couldn't even wait for us eventhough it wasn't even 7.15pm yet. He insisted that he cannot wait and drove off just like that.

Hence, that was how the 7 of us got stranded in front of Inti Subang. -.- We thought of taking a taxi straight back to Nilai but the "best price" they could give us was RM90. Crazee. If we had known this was going to happen, we would've just stayed to watch the HK stars up close. Heh. With no other remaining options, we had to take another taxi to the Subang KTM station, board the KTM from Subang to KL Sentral and from KL Sentral back home to Nilai. AND from Nilai, we took another taxi back to Inti.

Yesterday, a lot of money was spent on transportation. No thanks at all to the bus driver. An advice to others who might want to try the Inti bus service in future, be there early and don't wander away. =)

Annyywayyyyyy, I <3 Penang.
Seeing all the familiar buildings and landmarks feels so good.
And i realize food in Penang is cheap.
Cheap = good

ps- Jas, take me on a car ride when you're back!!

Food List

I know i'll definitely be having more than one food-cravings list when i'm in the States. It's only been one month here in Nilai since i last went back for the Raya break but i'm already craving for all the yummy food back home.

Karyn's Food Wish List
1. Hokkien mee
2. Lor mee
3. Mee goreng
4. Lok-lok
5. Char koay teow
6. Laksa
7. Chee Cheong Fun
8. Ice cream (Haagen Dazs is good. =P)
9. Home-made cakes. *hint hint* (but i'd like to learn how to bake also)
10. Soup!! Like chai boey, lotus root soup, tu tor theng, fishball soup and etc.
11. Food from Chilis
12. Nando's peri-peri chicken
13. Nasi kandar (the one daddy usually buys..Combo of chicken, potatoes, veggie, egg. YUM.)
14. Orr chein (fried oysters with egg)
15. Nyonya kuih (what? i like ok. especially kuih-talam)
16. Roti babi
17. The toasted bread with butter that is usually eaten with half boiled eggs.

Haha! Super long list. Ok ok, shall not be a glutton. But i must gain back some weight i lost from food poisoning and 4 months of long distance walking in Inti. =P

Oh, i wanna show you people my SAT essay (Collegeboard scans our essay an puts it online for our viewing) but i'm not supposed to put it here cause it's copyrighted. =( i got an 8 for it. Out of 12. Which was quite okay considering i expected a much lower score. The topic was hard..and maybe i was...shall we say, uninspired. =P (situational attribution and rationalization kicking in. =P)

It's gonna be end of this semester's final exam in 14 hours!! =D =D =D
Going for a food jaunt on tuesday. Lalalalaa.

Ew.

THIS is the stuff of nightmares - though in this case, the victim could not even fall asleep.

A Taiwanese man by the name of Zheng Yongcai, 47, endured nasal pain and a persistently running nose for three days. But the pain didn't go away. Desperation because of a lack of sleep, Mr Zheng checked himself into a hospital on Tuesday morning, reported Apple Daily Taiwan. The doctor examined him, then pulled a large cockroach, still wriggling, out of his left nostril. At the sight of the insect, Mr Zheng involuntarily exclaimed: 'Disgusting.' The creature was 4cm long and 2cm wide and had been buried about 4cm into Mr Zheng's nostril. The victim said: 'Since something got stuck in my nose three days ago, the pain has kept me from sleeping.' It felt like there was another living thing struggling inside my body. It was really terrible. 'The doctor who saw him said that this was an extremely rare case and the first he had seen. He said that the cockroach could have crawled into Mr Zheng's nose while he was sleeping and got stuck there. When Mr Zheng picked his nose, he may have driven the insect further inside.

HAHA.

Note to fellow Inti-UC friends, Beware.

=P

Bipolar disorder?

I've been trying and trying to register for Toefl for the past two hours or so.
First, it was some technical error which had me restarting the process all over again. Then it was the failure to authenticate the credit card user. Every single detail regarding the credit card is correct. I've checked and rechecked the details but every time i try to submit payment, it says 'Error' in Red letters.
I'm just so tired that i don't even know whether to cry or to shout.

I supposed to be really happy and relieved because the tough papers for finals are over, SAT 2 is done with and there's only ENL left before i go back home. All i needed to do was PACK. I was happy just this afternoon. Happily talking to Beng Yen about random stuff.

Then i remembered i have to register for Toefl..I know i should've registered earlier but i wanted to wait and see if my CR score in SAT 1 would be high enough to exempt me from taking Toefl. Needless to say, i didn't reach the score required by just a little bit.

I'm tired. Been functioning on insufficient sleep for the past couple of days. And now, i have to settle Toefl problem, get the Inti transcript thingy done, print the application forms, pack stuff to be stored in the store room for the holidays.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGG
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

It's because of all this that i seriously have doubts about applying to uni so soon. Different people are saying different things and we don't even know which information is correct. It's all these hassles and uncertainties that make me feel like i should just take live easy, enjoy the two years here in Inti and just go as a transfer student. Simple.

Change of perspective

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, so people say.
Just as quickly as the oppressive mood hit yesterday, a new wave of determination (to some extent) took over today. True, there are tons of things to do but i'm trying my very best to not let it get to me.

One could say it's cognitive re-framing.
Or one could also say i'm simply choosing to ignore the fact that i've got 12 chapters of CSC, 8 chapters of Psycho and 7 chapters of Calculus to revise in 3 days + SAT 2 subjects to study. And that is denial kicking in.

Hahahaha.

I realize that little little things can often make me happy again.
Like the much anticipated plan for a food escapade down in the city after finals. Having friends who enjoy food as much as i do does wonders for my spirits. =D
And moments on the phone when i can be cheeky, kiddy and totally relaxed. Thank you.
And noticing that there's an AUP lecturer (teaching accounts, i think) by the name of Kiranjeet Kaur. Haha!
And realizing that it's the end of semester 1! Hello Penang, goodbye jungle.

There has been a dry spell of pictures for quite a while. So here are some not-so-recent ones to provide a respite from the usual routine.

The horror!!!!

The good ol' days. I still think we should've beaten the Saints boys. Hmph.
=P

High school
vs.
Out of high school

(Sorry Lynn, I don't seem to have a high school picture of the 5 of us..)

On an end note, SAT Maths Level 2 is no walk in the park.
ps-Did anyone notice that Lynn was holding Joanne's finger in the 2nd picture? A bit odd. Hahaha.
pps-I am NOT a High School Musical fan. Period.

Drained

Starting to feel physically and mentally drained from all the work that's slowly but surely piling up. It's like running a hurdle race where the hurdles seem to stretch on to infinitely. I just stumbled (and possibly toppled it in the process) my way across one hurdle today - the final Psycho class quiz.

The distance between each obstacle seem to grow shorter and shorter until there's barely time for me to catch my breath, much less prepare for them. In 5 days, there's going to finals..which at the moment, i'm ill prepared for. And halfway through finals, there's SAT 2. Yeah yeah, it'll be all play and no work once i'm back home. NOT. There's uni applications to fill in, essays that say "choose me! i'm suitable for your prestigious uni!" to concoct, recommendation letters to obtain, more confusing forms to fill in, transcripts to send, proof-reading and editing of the essays (reminds me of the good ol ed-board days), aliasing with Inti and MGS teachers/personel..Much of which, i'm still rather blur with. Sure, there has been much help from briefings, friends and online sources but still. After reading the walkthroughs and what-nots, i come out half as dazed as before. =S

The essays are what worry me the most. They all require me to write about how i'm supposed to be suitable for the uni, how i can contribute to the uni, how special and different i am from the pool of 30 000 + (super smart and accomplished) applicants and most improtantly the essays need to leap off the page. I kinda wish i had some amazingly spectacular life event akin to that of the main character in the movie, 21. Though i wouldn't wanna get beat up. Haha.

Seriously.

Do we all need to lead a double life counting cards (and win $$$ in Las Vegas) during the weekends and going to classes during the week, get caught and lose everything and get beat up just to impress the people scrutinizing our essays? I'm not so sure about what i have that can make a difference in those universities. My mediocre credentials are very unlikely to impress as compared to International Olympiad winners, world-class athletes..and all those ho-liau people out there. So, it has to be the stuff inside me. My ideals, my visions, my traits, my flairs...stuff (or fluff) that other people are missing. Which i'm not sure what those are. And which i have not had the time to think about. Yet.

Sigh.

Will go play Word Challenge for now.
And maybe think hapee thoughts.
Like haagen dazs.
And baby Ryan's birthday.
And seeing friends.
And glorious Penang food.

Done deal

The results are in.
For the SAT Reasoning test i mean.
Weellllll.
I got an okay score..Though it's nothing to shout about.
And it's so much less than what i got for the mock SAT test prepared by Inti.

Makes me feel a bit not so bright..but hey, the psycho book says that SAT tests have been criticized for not really predicting a person's aptitude in college. It's only MODERATELY correlated. So, a person COULD do not so well in SAT and yet be fantastically good in uni. =P

Hah.

So there.

The universities need to know this fact. =P

Annnnndddddd,

MGS Review 2009 is out.
Got my face inside wan.
Wheeee!
Hahaha.

I'll see it. Soon.

Decisions

Decisions, decisions, decisions.
What to take as an elective next semester. I'm definitely taking 3 pre-major subjects (Calculus 2, General Physics 1 and General Chemistry 1) but the confusion comes when deciding on my electives.

These are the electives i have to complete:

2 Social Sciences (PSY105/ SOC103
2 Humanities (HIS251/ HIS252/REL200)
2 Computing (CSC202)
1 Communication (COM110/ COM211)
1 Fine Arts (ART 105)

This semester, i've already done one social science (Psycho) and one computing (CSC) and i'm definitely not taking another Psycho or CSC class. Don't wanna anaylze human perceptions or computing technologies anymore. Who wants to know what S-HTTP, TCP/TP, WiMax and all that stands for anyway? Or what metacognition, Freudian theories, Gestalt psychology means? Not me. (I suppose that makes me shallow..=P)

And i'm definitely leaving Fine Arts to be done in US. I don't wanna waste my Fine Arts elective on something boring like Music Aprreciation/ Music Theory when i can do theater/drama/more fun stuff in US.

So, the plan now is either to take Econs or US History..Leaning more towards Econs though. Maybe US History in the second semester.

The plus point here is that i'm exempted from both MPW subjects so i got more free time. =D =D =D and i'm better equipped for SAT Chemistry and Physics subject tests. Thank you, Disted. So you see, going to school for 6 months wasn't such a waste.

On another note, FINALS ARE COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 AND SO IS SAT 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Final draft for the final exam timetable is not out yet..but there's a 99.9% probabilty that Psycho and Calculus will be on the same day. And that would be the Friday before the November SAT 2 paper which so happens to be on Saturday.
Crazeee.

Panic At The Disco Hostel Room

It just dawned on me that Inti expects to see great achievements from our class. Since our class was the only one to fully have scores above 1800 for the SAT mock, the head honchos(including Dr. Lim) definitely want to see good scores for our real SAT 1 and SAT 2 test. Not to mention they probably want to see MOST, if not all of us flying off to Ivies/Ivy Standard unis.
*gulp*

Ok, sleep first.
Work tomorrow.

ENL 101 (7B) July 2008

Before the Raya holidays, the fourteen of us from ENL 101 Section 7B came up with some ideas to put together something special for our US trained professor. Thanks to Jie Min who managed to get the shirts done within one week. And thanks to Crystal for her forsight and saving us the trouble of doing another 'assignment' today. =D Plus, our litttle compilations is so much nicer than just writing on plain white paper. Heee.

So after we all came back from the Raya break, we rushed to get everything ready. Including taking several shots like

This

and this

All in all, we manged to catch Dr. Lim by surprise today. We gave him our 'project' which was actually a compilation of our personal thoughts and expressions for him, we sang him a song, we each got a hug from Dr Lim, we listened to his wisdom words for one last lesson and...

How can anything be complete without pictures?

Our pre-Raya stroke of inpiration successfully presented.

The orchestrators.

The real person himself and his name.

There're still more photos but we've yet to synchronize all of it into an album or something. Heh.

Like Crystal said, ENL was the only class where we knew each classmate by name (in full!) and the only class where we could interact openly. Come to think of it, Dr. Lim was the linchpin of the class. In the early weeks, our constant fear of being scolded for not following his instructions fueled our cooperation with each other. We compared and discussed assignments to make sure everyone did the same thing (so if we 'die', we 'die' together. XD)

Soon after, the bonding and everything seemed to come naturally. There was this gradual development of mellowness in class (which i think affected our professor too) and often, all of us would leave class feeling happy. Hungry but happy. We didn't really bother with how late Dr. Lim's classes would end cause usually he has so much wisdom to impart on us. After class, we'd often hang around a bit more just to listen to him talk about life experiences, US culture and stuff.

Today, he told us that he treats each and everyone of his students like his children. And he wants all of us to work hard and get on the Dean's List or President's List. Then, he'll come witness us going up on stage. So sweet right. =)

Good thing i never switched to some other class at the start of the semester. It's been such a great deal of fun knowing these bunch of classmates and lecturer for these 2+ months. If i were to be given a chance to do everything again, i wouldn't change anything..except mebbe my first Class Assessment scores. =P

Thank you, everyone.
Viva la ENL 101 (7B)!

Haha.
