A stroll down Memory Lane

Extremely long post ahead. Skip if you want to. But if you're Lynn, you better read the whole thing. I'll smack you if you don't.
This is for you, Ong Ee Lynn. =)

Standard 5 : The beginning
We officially became friends in 5 Biru. I think. All i remember is that we had nearly identical phone numbers back then. And you thought i was playing a trick on you. Hahaa. Oh wait, our Gurney hotel sleepover during Abby's birthday! Crazy times. =D

Standard 6 : Development
Then conversations over the phone started. Hahaha, goodness knows how many hours we racked up in total (not to mention the bill. =P).Your sister thought my name was 'Karyna'. Hahaha. YOU changed my life that year. I will always always remember that particular phone call. If it wasn't for you, i'd probably still be pretty clueless today. Thanks a million, Lynn. =) You know, you can stand proud when the time comes cause you've done something to touch peoples lives, namely mine.
Somehow i remember your Seni model house very well. You 'built' it out of cardboard complete with open-able roof, rooms and deco just like those miniature property show units. And the bathtub that you painstakingly carved and shaped out of a tiny piece of soap. You always had that creative, designing streak in you..I guess it first appeared in Standard 6, and you just moved on to bigger and bigger things. =)
And there were pancakes in the morning, stayovers, fellowship at the balcony, our candid pictures (especially the congkak one!), Abby's 'Uu uu'(if that's how you spell it), stories, Ms Ong's guitar playing.
Good old times.

Form 1 : Youngest again
From being the oldest and most 'tua liap' in standard 6, now we were back to being youngest and blurest. I remember our first Brook's House meeting, where we had no clue what was going on during the nomination..All us newbies got scolded by the high-and-mighty seniors for wasting time. Then, we got roped into marching. Hours and hours and hours baking under the hot sun. Maybe that was how you got your 'hitam manis' shade..=P
We went for Y-Act camp that year. We hid Joanne Wong's pig soft toy in the fridge while she was bathing. XD I wish we could go for more camps like that..
I think this was also the year you started your famous "I'll die a spinster with 10 cats" and "EEWWW. I HATE guys" phrases. But who know things could change a few year on..

Form 2 : Exposure year
School trip with the form 3s. I realised that was our one and only educational school trip. HAHAHA! With our Pn Looi in charge, we went to look at stuff related to our Geografi syllabus. Mangrove swamp, charcoal kilns, forest reserves, Gua Tempurung, and finally a bit of shopping in KL.

Konyaku jelly making at Jemimah's house for that year's canteen day. Where we played with the hot jelly. XD Also where i BROKE her mum's ladle. Whoops. =P
That year we got roped into marching once again, but still the kuai people we were, we always went for practices. Salted chicken lunch at your house with Ann Ting! =D Yum.
It was an 'exposure year' i guess cause then people got interested on the topic of HOS aka GUYS. Hydrogen..nitrogen..Just to name a few. =P
Then there was BM tuition. Ahem. The nights that you and Becky clearly enjoyed. The rubber tossing, table pushing, various other stationaries tossing. -.- That and raining paper on Mel to disturb her.
Also note that stuff you drew on our 2B blackboard is stuck in my head forever!!
There was also this cooking competition that you, Mel and I joined..Which we didn't even pass Pn Loke's qualifying round. Heh. Remember? That proves I was never cut out for cooking. =P
(now i don't have to worry about cooking anymore! Hopefully. LOL)

Form 3 : Murky waters
The year of 'friendship wars', 'conflicts', 'secrets' and 'i hate her's. Girls and our dramas. Heh. Though we still managed to get Cleanest Class for dunno how many consecutive times.

Because it's the PMR year, we went for extra classes here and there. KH Law then Eric Lim tuition classes. We mastered the art 'messaging' on scrap paper during tuition. Also, you killed my blue College pencilbox logo..and the blue juice oozed out.

Form 4 : Climbing 2 flights of stairs daily
In form 4, your nature of being friendly and amicable telah terserlah. Always the one who can join any 'gang', flit around and mix with all manner of classmates. As we were considered sort of seniors already, we became busy people. You with YE, me with Ed Board and RC. We both had our Break Down Point sometime throughout the year. XD
And how hard we tried to stay awake by doodling on the textbook (mine) during those boring sleep-inducing Sejarah lessons.
Tuition in Denise's house at night was fun. You and your cantonese cum hokkien cum mandarin sentences.
"yellow is purple!"
"siau pien" (mandarin word which lynn thought meant dreaming)
You really made tuition that much funner. =D
Another school trip, this time 4 Science 1 and 4 Science 2 combined. It was all about having fun and KL shopping. Wheee! Denise spilt water on your hotel bed in Genting! Eheh.

Also the year something happened to contradict your famous phrases.

Form 5 : Art
We went to different classes but still stayed close. Still with our long phone calls though less frequent. And i vaguely remember one in the middle of the night. Teehee. You became a fan of TVB dramas, becoming 'TVB partner' to Denise. First Francis Ng. Then Kevin Cheng. Then Bocco BOSCO. Your artistic desires were in full swing then. The jeans skirt, the sketches, the Photoshop artwork. AND You morphed my pink polka dotted pencil box into some pink canvas loaded with hidden mickies..or not so hidden.
The things you laughed at..which sometimes didn't make sense. "ichuchu, ichichi, ichacha"
We'd hear your burst of laughter everyday.
Ooh, yes..Our one week practice of a drama. 'A Kampung Story'.
That year too, i BROKE something else - your sviwel chair. Whooops. My bad.

From now on, we might be going on our different paths. Meeting different people. Doing different things. Going through different experiences. Though we will be separated by the distance, deep down i know we'll be

"BEST FRIENDS FOREVER"

[insert high-pitched, plastic style laughter] XD

END.

There, your blog post, Lynn. =)
