A petition

We, the concerned youths of Malaysia express appalled anger towards the Slim River Bus Crash incident that claimed the life of Lee Nian Ning, Mohd. Zailani and Pang Boon Eng on the 25th of January 2008. This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred. Despite numerous complaints and public uproar in the past, incidents like this continue to occur. It was reported that the driver’s company had 13 summonses on that bus itself. We find it unacceptable that such a company could have operated that vehicle on the road.

What are the explanations?

Hundreds of thousands of university students just like Nian Ning and us rely on such public transport to travel back home. A human life should not be taken lightly.

How could a vehicle with 13 summonses be free on the roads and not be held by the authorities?

We, the following, hereby demand that the relevant authorities set up a committee consisting of road safety experts and representatives from relevant public bodies to conduct a thorough study to find effective solutions to ensure that mistakes like this do not occur again in the future.

We will not be quiet until we see it in the media that satisfactory measures have been taken.

We thank you for your co-operation. Let us pray for those who have died to make way for change and keep our fingers crossed that someone, anyone will hear us and enforce that change.

Please put this in forums, bulletins, emails, blogs.....everywhere. We need all the support we can get.

PLEASE DO IT. All it takes is a few clicks.

Shock

IPOH: The driver of a double-decker express bus that saw three of its passengers killed in a crash near Slim River on Friday had 13 outstanding police summonses issued against him.

Records in www.myeg.com.my revealed that Ruslim Isa, 43, who was sent to the Teluk Intan Hospital for a broken right leg after the 5.55pm accident, had seven summonses issued against him for speeding, five for illegal overtaking and one for not using an overhead bridge.

The summonses, amounting to RM2,660, dated as far back as 2000.

The accident occurred at KM382 of the highway between Slim River and Behrang during a downpour.

Slim River deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Adzhar Othman said that blood samples taken from Ruslim would be sent to the Chemistry Department, while the remains of the bus would also be sent to Puspakom for analysis on Monday.

"At this point, we cannot yet ascertain the cause of the accident, whether or not it is due to human or technical error.

"Investigations are still ongoing," he said.

The crash, which had initially killed two passengers - Mohd Zailani Mustafa, 23, of Sungai Nibong, Bayan Lepas, Penang, and Lee Nian Ning, 21, of Taman Gelugor, Penang - claimed its third victim on Saturday.

The news came so suddenly that i found it really hard to believe. Nian Ning, the pretty, young, talented and well respected senior of MGS passed away yesterday just like that. Though i might not have known her well, hearing that someone so young and capable is no longer here still shakes me to the core. I've always thought that she would become really successful in the future but i've never expected this to happen. It really goes to show that no one, absolutely no human on earth knows what the future holds.
I cannot bear to imagine what her close friends and family are feeling right now...
Eventhough you may not be here anymore but you will always be remembered by us juniors of MGS. Rest in peace, Nian Ning.

Heath Ledger.
Nian Ning.
Who next??
...You have this perception that you're still young and you have plenty of time to fool around, party and enjoy life. Death, to you is like such a distant thing. All you care about now is your earthly possessions, upcoming parties, love interests, social cliques, wealth, exams, ambitions....and everything else under the sun. You worry and worry about the future, plan and plan about becoming rich & successful, study hard and play harder....You're just contented living in what you think is a good and complete life but,

Is your life really complete?

Who knows if your life will be taken from you this very instant? Or the next hour? Or tomorrow??

Have YOU given the slightest thought about death? About what happens after dying?

Most importantly, Are YOU ready?

(the 'you' mentioned above is a general term, not aimed at anyone who reads this)

The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, "What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops."

Then he said, "This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

And I'll say to myself,"You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry."

But God said to him, "You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?"

Procrastination

Here i am halfway through the moral essay which i conveniently forgot about until a few hours ago and im' STILL not done...I'm sleepy, i have not done the last further maths qusetion, i'm tired and i can't type coherently. I'm depending on you to show me the errors, red dotted lines!

...4 more pantang larangs to go.

Going to college costs so much. *sigh* Money money money. The thought of how much my parents are paying for me really drives me to want to do well. Who am i kidding, of course i want to do well! Just thinking of WHEN i can actually study. Can't seem to find time at the momeent. Also, the thought of everything that they do or rather, sacrifice for me makes me want to pay them back in so many many ways.

No further maths, no moral, no GP, no Chem tutorial on Wednesday! WHEEEEEEEE! Best of all, no waking up at 6.45!
LALALALALA.

[insert title]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIMY!!!
[insert birthday song 5 Science 1 style]
You're getting older..=P
Have a wonderful birthday. =)

I guess there are many MANY people out there like us, the 'same species' like Krystal so aptly put it. We have the passion, the fire and the desire burning within to fulfill our purpose in life as the youth of today yet we have circumstances. Challenges. Roadblocks.
Though i believe we'll emerge victorious for we have help. Nothing is impossible. All things will come together. =) One day, we'll be free to shout it out to the world.

Never are we free from homework. *sigh*
Mechanics, Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics. Speaking of FUrther Maths, I need help again.
I don't feel like squeezing my brain. Niresh, where you? How to sketch the r^2 curves?

Huh..today's Open Day at NS camps. Oh well.

!!!!
Forgot about Moral essay!
10 pantang larangs and the rasional di sebaliknya. Bla bla..
*sigh*
I'll do that sometime later...much later...
Blogger is acting funny with the font size in this part. Silly thing.
I COMMAND YOU TO RETURN TO NORMAL.

*whacks computer*

Nope. Still no change.

YUM

I wish somebody would be so extremely nice to do this for me. The guy actually bought the WHOLE TUB of Haagen Dazs ice cream leh. I want!!! *salivates*
Lynn, i would buy you a scoop. Somebody else can get the cake. Put my ice cream and the cake together and voila! you have your ice cream cake. =D

I just had a thought.
...Is this what you call a bimbo blog?
*gasp*
Like if this is a bimbo post in a bimbo blog then i'd be like a bimbo!
Equation : let this blog be a.
let this post be x.
this post, x is part of this blog.
=> x is an element of a
f(x)=a
I shall not think anymore.
This hurts my brain like so much.
Like Ouch.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
This is really so pointless.
This is what happens when you get bored. ^^
and this is how i rate my classes according to intersting-ness of lectures:
physics
>further maths>maths>chemistry
though it's a tough fight between maths and chemistry.
It's a known fact that moral is nowhere near any of these subjects.
AAANNND we actually PAY money to learn this dry, tasteless stuff called moral.

Edit : I take back my ratings. They're all equally sleep inducing. Even Physics..especially 5pm classes. Cept Further Maths. That will cause me to not sleep.

Of Asymptotes, ranges & instersections

Felt really blurr in Further Maths today. I even got -1 x 3 wrong...
Everybody else so smart wan. No fair!
Guess it was my own fault for not being motivated enough to try harder on curve sketching during the weekend.
What happened was that once i noticed a similar pattern in the questions, that being unfactorise-able equations, i just stopped doing.
So, without the values, i couldn't proceed to the 2nd part, and the 3rd and 4th and so on...
It just ended with me being really frustrated and whole lot of unfinished homework which i conveniently left untouched until today.

Arrgh..Must start the nerding process again...someday...soon...
Once AS rolls around, i'm sure it'll be like SPM all over again.

Saw some new people in class today.
U-Jen and another girl i knew but can't recall her name.
Don't think she remembers me anyway.
Ah well.
I think i shall have fried rice tomorrow...if they sell that in the canteen.

School aside, I now know that Pos Laju costs a whopping RM 5.20.

Yesterdays and todays.

Yesterday, I went back to MGS for Pn Lim ST 's farewell. Saw our teachers, some seniors and juniors but had no time to talk to many. Pn Ng is still as cute as ever by the way. This is the year where Ed Boarders will be even busier covering a few big scale retirement events. Go Ed Board! XD HAHAHAHAHA.

Yesterday, i ate in Chemistry class. Yes, i was a goody-goody-two-shoes in secondary school. And i did Maths while he was teaching. Hah, still the same as always..Doing maths homework during non-math lessons.

Yesterday, i had truckloads of homework which i will be aiming to finish..today. Tonight. Mechanics, Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry.

Today, i made cookies! Cornflake cookies to be exact. I failed mummy's quality control. Those i made came in very different sizes. Hahahaha. I will learn to increase my kitchen skills.

Aaaaaannndd, today is Saturday the 12th! Second week into the first month of college. Yench, time to message Boon Kit! Tell him how hurt you were last week. Are you reading this, Yench? XD
Just thinking of all the Moral lessons to come makes me sleepy already. I'm seriously looking forward to Thaipusam holiday. No moral for a day! Wheeeee.

Today, Rebecca is off to Singapore...with Chibi Maruku hairstlye. O.O

This is Chibi Maruko Chan

I don't know how many times Rebecca cuts her hair per year. Each time she changes her look, she becomes more and more like Chibi Maruko....

Now it's time for TV!!!! I meant homework.

College.

Further Maths is pretty okay so far....It feels like Add Maths all over again. You feel the sheer joy of obtaining the answers and also occasional frustration of not being able to solve the problem.
Did that just sound very nerd-ish? Oh well.
Maths on the other hand is a bit dull. We got a long winded lecturer.
We had our very first taste of Moral today. Very dry stuff. Worse than our P. Moral in secondary school. Couldn't understand what the lecturer was talking throughout the 2 hours. Something about konsep asas etika, pernyataan normatif, logik...estetika....yadda yadda. Doesn't sound like moral to me.
General paper would be a rather tough one i think. The is a wide range of topics to read up on. Politics, war, sosial issus, science, medicine, literature, entertainment, sports, leisure, health, music..................................................................

Cukuplah warkah untuk kali ini. Sekian. =)

Change.

Well.

Today was the first official day of lectures in college. We had HOMEWORK! Sad case. Ok, not we...Just those of us who were stuck with the same teacher for Mechanics and Pure Maths. The other group with a different teacher for Pure Maths finished the 2 hour lesson in like 45 minutes.

In case anyone wants to know, we A Levels science students get split up for the sciences and maths classes cause there's just too many of us. Possibly close to 100 or even more. Odd thing is, they never split the physics class...And it seems like almost everyone takes physics. The room could barely fit all of us in it. Can't even hear the teacher properly. Hence, no lesson. Poor teacher. He's cute though. Not the cute hot kinda cute. The cute cute kinda cute. =)
(Kiran thinks he looks like the yellow eyebrow-ed penguin from the cartoon, Surf's Up)

So far, the syllabus is pretty much like what we've learned in Form 4 and Form 5 lo...Which makes the lectures boring at times. Campur with monotonous lecturers, lagi boring. I think physics will be one of the nicer classes. =)
I miss Pn Ng and her cuteness during maths/add maths.

Still adjusting to having so many unknown people in class and not having my usual group around..Yeah, have friends in most classes la but it's just not the same you know. Not having someone around who really really knows you/you really really know needs some getting used to lo. Someone whom you get to fight over seats with...or someone to share personal stories with...Or even just someone there for company. Although the people there are alright la. Quite friendly lo if you talk to them. Mostly they come pre-cliqued from the same secondary school wan.
Conclusion = we usually stick to our own small group of friends.

Lunch today was 15 minutes eating, 45 minutes waiting + walking around. Really really nothing to do. If you think MGS canteen is cacat, college wan lagi cacat. If you go late then mampus. Everything wiped off except for stuff most people don't eat. Vegetables for instance...Super expansive summore. Next week, we might go on ice cream diet like we used to in secondary school. Oh yes, the ko-op lady is very sweet and friendly. =) not like the one manning our secondary school one

Uh. Our school EX school had more changes this year...as per usual. Apparently, now they finally have their 10 air cons installed in the hall. The Form 5's this year shiok leh. Nice and cold for SPM. Unless they have a sudden power failure like we had during SPM two months back XD.

-Something else unrelated-
It's just sad when someone so close to you passes on. Someone who has always been there, someone you can turn to, someone whose presence you take for granted, someone who soothes your fears, someone who is everything to you... All that taken from you in a flash. I'm in no right position to say any words of comfort or anything at all in fact seeing as i've not experience it and i don't quite know the person. Still, it's something tough to cope with. May Strength, Blessings and Love be with you.

...I think i'm getting a tad bit long winded nowadays. Or am i not?
Heh. XD

2008

A little late for a 'End of 2007' post. Heh..Sorry lo. Was too caught up with family stuff to go online and all. Was going to blog about it but had no time. Anyway, the problem's solved now. =) Though the incident really did make me realise how important love is.

It's already day 2 of the new year. College started today for some ex-MGSians. (how sad to be an ex already)

Denise : doing her A Levels in a not-so-faraway place. Hope you enjoy studying in your JC. =)
Abby, Aimy, Lynn, Sneha, Kiran, Hui Ling, Tracy, me...etc : doing different programs in Disted.

Some others starting their tertiary education very very soon.
Like Jas. Who'll be all alone(at least temporarily) in Uplands without her amazing friends. Don't deny it, Jas. =P Though she's the most likely person to meet some entau international students. =P
Sherine : not sure whether she's started. She's in Seremban though.
Pat : studying in KDU.
Irene : in a further-away-than-Denise country

While a few are doing time in NS. 3 months is a looooong duration. *sigh*
Mei Mei, Ming Yen, Mel, Vayshna...

Whereas the other schoolmates are either waiting for SPM results/going to Form 6/working/ haven't made up their minds.
We shall visit Jemimah in Secret Recipe!!

Um, today was orientation for new students in Disted. Saw many familiar faces. (we saw Brian from Denise's dad's tuition!) all i can say is, it's not as fun as Denise's was. Thanks to the orientation, i now know that we are allowed to bring water bottles into the library. XD

The time table is rather packed. Guess that's what you get for cramming things into 11 months. I have classes starting at 8 in the morning from Monday to Friday. Most which ends at 5 or 6 in the evening. (Yench & Lynn will kindly refrain from mentioning their schedules =D) Further maths at 8 in the morning!! Not sure what i got myself into..All the breaks only last 1 week then it's back to lectures. To add to that, the breaks for other programs are different. That means Lynn will be having exams when we have breaks or we will be having exams when she does.

I hope there will be time for tv, online, sleep, outing with friends, lazing around. *sigh* It's something like school with all the rules applied minus the uniform. For once, i feel like going back to school. On the bright side, i don't have any lectures tomorrow. =)

Hopefully, college life will turn out to be as much fun as secondary school.
PS- did i mention i passed my driving test? HAHA.

edit: Irene is in HELP University College. Thought she went to Aussie. Guess not. Nicole & Michelle are the ones going to Aussie.
